The Press Club of Cleveland inducted to of our alumni into its Hall of Fame and other Falcons came out to celebrate with them.
Dale Omori (’83) photos graced the pages of The BG News and The Key yearbook before he started his photojournalism career outside of Dayton. Later, after stints at The Cincinnati Post and The Plain Dealer plus a brief stop-over at an advertising agency, he finished his career running his own video production company, Omori Media. He retired in 2024.
Julie Wallace (’89) joined the BG News as a freshman and finished her tenure as editor. She interned at her hometown paper, The Chronicle-Telegram, and rejoined the paper as a full-time reporter immediately after graduation – rising through the ranks from court reporter, county government reporter and police reporter to metro editor. She then joined the Akron Beacon Journal in 2000, covering Akron City Hall before returning to The Chronicle as assistant managing editor and then, two year later, being named managing editor, a position she has held since 2008.
Falcon Media Manager Karl Smith (’87) joined Mike McIntyre (’87), Elizabeth McIntyre (’89) – both McIntyres are 2016 inductees – and Mizell Stewart (’94) at the Press Club’s event in Cleveland Heights to celebrate the occasion.
