Four categories, four awards. A clean sweep.
That’s the headline out of the Press Club of Toledo’s 2023 Touchstone Awards for Falcon Media. We had nominees in four categories and took home the award in each one, in addition to one of our students being awarded a Bernard F. Judy Scholarship.
The winners are [drumroll, please] …
Best Print: Awarded to Kyle Nelson and staff for the 2022 edition of Best of BG, the second consecutive year the magazine won this award. (Download and view the magazine here)
Best Social or Digital Media: Awarded for our collaborative effort on Live & Loud. This is the second consecutive year our partnership with the Music Industry Club yielded this award.
Best Television: Awarded to Ryan Dick, Taylor McFarland, Olivia Ross and the BG24 staff. We submitted three newscasts, including this one.
Best Photojournalism: Awarded to Drake Harlett for this five-photo portfolio of work.
In addition, the Press Club of Toledo awarded sports content director Steve Iwanek the annual Bernard F. Judy Scholarship.
All in all, a great night to be a Falcon, especially one connected to Falcon Media, especially since the University of Toledo went home empty-handed (with the exception of a scholarship winner).
