Tyler Buchanan, 2013, spent three years at The BG News as a special sections editor, reporter and columnist. Tyler spent six years reporting and editing the The Athens Messenger and Vinton-Jackson Courier newspapers in Southeast Ohio before joining the Ohio Capital Journal staff as a Statehouse reporter. He moved to Axios in 2021 and authors its Columbus newsletter. He earned the BGSU Journalism Department’s Florence and Jesse Currier Young Professional Award in 2019.
Tyler was elected president of the BG News Alumni Society in July 2023.
